Where every child is known
We limit enrollment on purpose. With such a small group, each child is known, loved, and encouraged to grow at their own pace — and every parent and teacher is essential.
Play with purpose
Circle time, art and crafts, music, and unstructured play — a curriculum that balances gentle structure with a child's own curiosity.
A family feel
Parents serve on the board, organize workdays, and volunteer for field trips. Friendships between families are part of how the school works.

Welcome!
Our program provides a warm and nurturing introduction to the classroom for up to eighteen two- to five-year-olds. We limit school enrollment to foster a nurturing experience, where each child is known, loved, and encouraged to grow at his or her own pace. Our preschool serves the Bethesda, Cabin John, Glen Echo, and Palisades neighborhoods, with half-day and full-day programming.
Activities are led by up to three talented and experienced teachers in a relaxed, family-like environment. Our days hold both structured and unstructured time: circle time, outdoor play and nature walks, art and crafts, music, lunch and snack, and periodic field trips.
Although we are not a cooperative nursery school, parents are actively involved in the program and its administration. With such a small group, every parent and teacher is essential — and in the process, families come to know each other, the other children, and the teachers. These friendships strengthen the spirit of the community.
